Four months living in Philadelphia hotels was dramatically improved by the Reading Terminal Market. Since 1892 it has been a huge indoor public market, bringing together food vendors from across the spectrum of taste at low, low prices. Inspired, I ate fresh and well daily, and occasionally took a few pictures.

As blogged over at the mothership, on September 9, I attended the USA vs. Brazil friendly football match. The on-field action was scintillating, but the crowds were just as entertaining. Brazil fans dominated, and did so colorfully. Turning my camera on the crowd yielded Six Pictures: USA vs. Brazil.

After watching several Lundi Gras parades, I wandered over to Bourbon Street. The parades (which will soon be the topic of their own Six Pictures) were a family event, with parents holding small children on shoulders. Bourbon Street, by contrast, was packed with drunken college boys surrounding girls who were preparing to expose themselves. Because I fancy the entire chabel.net empire a PG-13 venture, I have no photos of the exposings. Instead:

Welcome to Six Pictures. This site is an extension of the chabel.net media empire. It is an effort to encourage me to take more pictures, and post more online. Picasa2 by Google coupled with Simpleviewer have made posting much easier.

Why six pictures?

The advent of the digital camera coupled with cheap storage cards has reduced the marginal cost of picture-taking to zero. The internet has eliminated publishing costs. Limiting each post to six pictures forces me to more rigorously edit my photos, and hopefully, will help me think like an editor while I'm shooting.
